|Scope of Works||Obsideo was contracted by Rainbow Rare Earths in 2016 to do a technical and costing study for the implementation of the Gakara Rare Earth project in Burundi, East Africa.
The study was conducted in cooperation with Metanza who was responsible for the laboratory test work. The test work results from Metanza showed that a combination of crushing, jigging and shaking tables could be used to upgrade the Gakara ore to consistently achieve a concentrate grade of at least 55 % TREO at recoveries of 85 %.
Obsideo was contracted in March 2017 for the implementation of the project. The process plant, which was designed to treat 10 000 t/a of ROM at an average head grade of 30 % TREO producing 5 000 t/a of TREO concentrate with a grade of at least 55 % TREO, was commissioned in December 2017.
